About Us
Valley Drug has been part of the Phillips County community for over 100 years. The Valley Drug name was established in June of 1914 by L.D. Bates of Columbia Falls. Eventually Roman Losleben Sr. purchased and operated the business until 1954. His son, Romie, purchased the business and operated Valley Drug for the next 30 years. Robert “Bob” Ziegler, along with his wife Toni, moved from Baker, MT to Malta to work for Romie in May, 1982 after meeting at a state pharmacy convention. They eventually purchased the business on January 1 st ,
1984. Bob ran the pharmacy and day to day operations and Toni, who worked as a Special Educations teacher, did most of the giftware purchasing over the next 31 years. Greg and his sister Genevieve grew up in Valley Drug doing the odd jobs and ultimately running the register. Genevieve eventually became a Certified Pharmacy Technician which she practiced throughout college on her way to an Occupational Therapist degree. Greg decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps and pursue pharmacy.
In May, 2010 Greg graduated from college and returned to Malta to manage the pharmacy and learn from his dad. Greg’s wife Amanda trained under Toni to learn the giftware side of the business. On January 1 st , 2015 Greg and Amanda purchased the business from his parents. Valley drug has had many wonderful, long term employees that have been a key to its success over the years.
